What is Aime-toi?

Aime-toi Cooking Class is a cooking school for foreign residents to experience mindfulness through cooking.

The school's name, "Aime-toi," means "love yourself" in French. The name was chosen with the realization that it is important to first love oneself to achieve peace in the world. We aim to free people worldwide from stress and make them happy through mindfulness.

To make mindfulness part of daily life in a casual, enjoyable, and relaxed manner, we have adopted the form of cooking, which many people do every day. We want to help people experience mindfulness, which is also a part of Zen philosophy, through cooking, and help them live a healthy and joyful life both mentally and physically.

Cooking Class

This program provides an opportunity to practice mindfulness through preparing Japanese cuisine (Zen cuisine), focusing on the careful and focused execution of each step of the cooking process, such as cutting vegetables and simmering.

Through this cooking class, which combines food, an important element of daily life, and mindfulness, participants can relieve stress at work and home and find the energy for tomorrow.

Table Tea Ceremony

The tea ceremony is one of the most popular forms of Japanese hospitality.

Many foreign nationals are also interested in it. However, the reality is that even for Japanese people, the tea ceremony is a very difficult thing to learn.

Some people cannot take the first step because of reasons such as "the etiquette seems difficult," "I am not good at sitting on the tea table," or "I would like to try it, but I am not sure if I can keep doing it for a long time. For such people, we would like to recommend the Table Tea Ceremony.

Team Building

Foreign nationals are valuable members of Japanese society.

However, many people may wonder how to build an organization due to language and cultural differences.

The "Team Building with Japanese Food" course is designed for universities that accept international students and small and medium-sized businesses that employ foreign workers.

Marriage Activity with Cooking

Many people want to get married but are not good at talking to others.

For those with such problems, events such as formal dating and singles parties where you have to find a topic of conversation by yourself can be a hurdle.

We provide an opportunity to get to know each other and communicate in a natural way through the communal activity of "cooking.

In addition to learning cooking, we expect the relationship between the participants is further deepened by eating the finished dishes together.

Japanese Language with Japanese Cuisine

Cooking is also a great way to learn a language.

Vocabulary and grammar that are difficult to learn just by writing or reading can be learned in a more practical way by connecting them with actual actions and situations.

Our instructor, who has experience as an English conversation instructor and cram school teacher, excels at teaching others. She will teach you carefully so that you can enjoy learning while having fun.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a form of mental care based on Buddhist meditation. By consciously creating a state of mind in which one can focus only on what is in front of one's eyes, it allows time to get away from the daily worries and anxieties, worries about work and interpersonal relationships, and other miscellaneous thoughts that may pop into one's head at a moment's notice. It is known to relieve stress, strengthen concentration, and improve performance. In recent years, it has attracted attention in various fields, such as treating mental illness and school stress care.

In the Aime-toi Cooking Class, our instructor, who is a certified mindfulness and Reiki healing teacher, will lecture on effective mindfulness practices as an expert in healing.

Founder’s Profile

Mindfulness Instructor and Reiki Healing Teacher.

I have been a vegetarian since childhood and became interested in healthy eating during college. After getting married, I became a mother of three boys and made lunch boxes every day for 20 years.

I love foreign countries and English, and while working as an interpreter and guide, I noticed that Japanese food culture and Zen philosophy are very popular among foreign tourists. I opened "Aime-toi" with the desire to spread "mindfulness cuisine," which combines the concepts of mindfulness and psychology. With a mission to free people worldwide from stress and make them happy, I teach individuals to prepare dishes while confronting themselves carefully and encourage taking the time to savor vegetable-centered meals slowly.

Message from the Founder

I was a child with extremely low self-esteem. Compared to my younger brother, from an early age, I began to think that I was not loved because I was not good enough. Although I strongly desired recognition and love, I would compare myself to others and focus only on my inadequacies. I believed all my friends around me were so bright and shiny, but I had nothing to be proud of.

The only thing that saved me was the comment, "I envy you because you are thin," that I was often told. Gradually, I became obsessed with losing weight, believing that being thin was worth it, and before I knew it, I had an eating disorder. Looking back, I think I was the type of person who would easily develop an eating disorder due to my low self-esteem, a strong desire for approval, and perfectionist personality. I took countless tennis, dance, golf, painting, etc., courses to fill the void in my heart that was not being filled. However, the busier I got, the hungrier my heart felt.

I was always frustrated, and my marriage was at its worst. I was told by my children, "I don't like the discord in this house. I don't want to be at home!”. It sounds like a lie, but plants did not grow in our house. The houseplants we bought and the bouquets of flowers we received would, strangely enough, soon wilt and die. On the other hand, I myself was steadily getting older, and when I passed the turn of my life, I began to think that there was no point in continuing to live as I was. When trucks and buses passed me on the road, I felt myself pulled along with them.

It was then that I came across a course on the subconscious mind. At that time, I was fed up with going to the hospital only to be prescribed medicine, and I was studying brain science, psychology, and success philosophy in an attempt to cure my eating disorder on my own. Because of this background, I strongly empathized with the concept of "rewriting the subconscious mind" taught in the course, and I continued to learn more about the subconscious mind and put it into practice by arranging it in my own way. One day, after some time had passed, I noticed that the desire to be recognized, which had lived inside me for decades, had disappeared without a trace. It was as if it had never existed in the first place.

I wanted to share my experience with those who needed it rather than keeping it to myself. With this strong desire, I now help people rewrite their bad memories and subconscious, heal their inner child, and regain their true selves through group talks and individual consultations. I also organize events that connect many people to each other and work to expand circles of happiness.

“I have been convinced that I am not good enough because of the mindless words of those around me.”

“I have no hope for my future.”

“I cannot get rid of my parents' influence on me as a child.”

“I am frustrated by everything and don't know what to do.”

“I am in agony every day because my marriage is not going well.”

Reforming the subconscious mind is effective for all kinds of problems. My mission is to build a world where many people can truly believe they are valuable by existing, loving themselves, and being happy. You are not alone. Please contact us.
